Clash erupts as police demolish encroachments near Majerhat Station
In a significant political maneuver, the INDIA bloc has expressed its intent to support the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) if it decides to contest for the Lok Sabha Speaker's position. Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut emphasized the bloc's strategy to ensure backing for the TDP, which has emerged as a pivotal player in the ongoing political scenario. The TDP, led by N Chandrababu Naidu, has been actively participating in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) meetings, showcasing its influential role within the coalition.
This development comes as both the TDP and Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) are seen as key allies in the NDA, especially following the recent elections where the BJP-led coalition did not secure an outright majority. The BJP secured 240 seats, falling short of the 272 needed for a majority, thereby amplifying the importance of support from allies like TDP and JD(U).
